ITFC North of England Supporters Honorary President

Kevin Beattie

Kevin Beattie, one of the great legends of Ipswich Town Football Club, has agreed to be the Honarary President of the North of England Branch of the supporters club.

He was born in Carlisle in 1953, which is one of the reasons he was approached about becoming our president. Kevin Beattie made his first appearence for Ipswich in August 1972 when Town beat Manchester United 2-1. His career with Ipswich continued until 1982 during which time he also gained 9 caps for the England team. Unfortunately his football career was cut short by injury.

Kevin Beattie's book 'The greatest footballer England never had' is available from Cult Figure Publishing. Also on the Cult Publishing website is a petition to get Kevin Beattie a UEFA Cup Medal for the 1981 UEFA Cup. Unfortunately he missed the final due to injury so didn't get a medal. Other players have had medals when they played in the cup but not the final so please sign the petition.
