Jordan Rhodes

The ITFC North of England Supporters are sponsoring academy player Jordan Rhodes for a second season.

Jordan was born on the 5th February 1990 in Oldham (his father Andy Rhodes was a goalkeeper for Athletic at the time).  He joined the Ipswich Town Academy at the U15 level and has been a regular member of the Academy teams since, scoring over 70 goals for them.

During the 2006/2007 season while still a member of U17 Academy team he also appeared and scored for the Reserves on several occasions. His involvement with England at U16 and U17 levels continued when he was named in the initial England squad for the U17 World Cup in South Korea in August and September of 2007.

Jordan's promise for the future was acknowledged by Jim Magilton on 31st March 2007 when he was given the first team squad number 38 for the Championship game between ITFC and Plymouth Argyle .  With his father having number 25 for the season (as emergency goalkeeping cover in addition to his full time role as ITFC's Goalkeeping Coach) this looks like being a unique event in the professional era of the Town where both father and son were in the same squad during the same season.

Jordan lives with his parents in Kesgrave and as well as supporting Ipswich he maintains a connection with his northern roots by supporting Barnsley where he started his Academy career and where his father was given his professional debut at the age of 17.

The ITFC North of England Supporters Club are pleased to be able support Jordan and the Academy by Sponsoring him for a second season through 2007/2008 and wish him continued success.
